Pop-up

The program for 2024 is in process and will be published here closer to the event. Stay tuned!

Forssa Textile Week brings together textile professionals who share the ideology of ethical and sustainable textiles. Our participants range from spinners to weavers, to clothing and pattern designers, and spinners to companies that focus on reusable and recycled textiles. At the Forssa Textile Week Pop-up, you can find sustainable domestic products and get to know the people behind the collections. As an addition to our domestic participants, we are delighted to welcome a group of industry professionals from Japan. The one-of-a-kind Japani-tori (Japan Market) is open during the event weekend with a selection of unique textile products.

Japani-tori 2023

Forssan Työväentalo, Kauppakatu 17
Sat-Sun 11-18

Forssa Textile Week invites you to visit Japani-tori (Japan Market) located at Forssan Työväentalo in the city center. A group of independent Japanese textile producers and designers bring you a collection, never seen before in Finland. The shops are open on Saturday and Sunday from 11-18

In Japan, there are many small-scale textile ateliers run by individuals and small groups. These Japanese ateliers have been influenced and captivated by Finnish designs, that Finland has engaged in since the 1960s. Finland has regarded design as part of its national agenda and is considered one of the most advanced countries in the world for its designs. The concept of dynamically abstracting the colors and shapes of the natural world around us and incorporating them into our everyday lives is something that Finland and the Nordic countries have taught us.

For this event, 15 brands that have been influenced by Finland have been able to join us in coming to this country. Their works, influenced by Finnish designs, are emotional and subtle and are filled with unique sensibilities. We hope you enjoy their creative work, shops, and exhibitions.
